Each campus has its own library facility which caters to the research needs of staff and students.

The Libraries carry a range of materials including books, magazines, newspapers, online journals, CDs, DVDs and Videotapes. Students are required to present a valid ID in order to borrow materials. The library on each campus also provides computer access, wireless internet capabilities as well as photocopying and printing services at a cost. Feel free to ask the Library staff at the Information Help desk, ifyou need assistance.

Reading Room (Monday – Friday (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) – Spalding
The library facilitates on the Spalding Campus include access to a reading room which facilitates research and 1 week loans.

Loan Policy
All registered students of the College have borrowing privileges, provided they can present valid identification and registration slip.

Regular Loans
All books on the open shelves are available for loan for a 1 week or 2 week period.

Overnight Loans
Some books in the Reserved Books and Reference Collections are loaned to students overnight for the period 12:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m. and this privilege is withdrawn if students consistently return books later than the prescribed time. Books for overnight loans must be reserved at least 4 hours in advance. Unless this is done books are loaned on a first come first serve basis.

Fines
Fines are charged for the late return of books at the rate of $100 per day or part thereof for regular loans and $100 per day for books on overnight loan.

Computers
The library is equipped with computers with internet access for use by staff and students . Wireless access is available on all the campuses.

Baggage Area
All students are encouraged to secure their valuables including money jewelry, computers, etc. while using the library. The institution will not accept liability for the loss or destruction of any of these items.

Plagiarism Checker
The College has access to a special software used to check students’ assignments to determine whether the work is authentic and properly referenced.

Copyright
All users of Library materials are personally responsible for ensuring that they observe the requirements of the Copyright legislation currently in force in Jamaica by JAMCOPY. The Jamaica Copyright Act 1993 gives all creators sole and exclusive right to publish and reproduce their work in any form. Failure to do so will be regarded as a serious breach of College discipline in addition to any liability incurred under the law. We subscribe to JAMCOPY through the CCCJ.
